Education and Experience
Completion of an approved nursing preparation program. One to two years of experience in a hospital, medical office, or other health services. One to two years of nursing-related experience with individuals who have diabetes and those that are medically fragile. Experience working with young children and adolescents is desired.

Required Certificates: - Possession of valid State of California License of Vocational Nursing. Please scan and attach proof. Please scan and attach the certificates to your application before the deadline. Applications without valid First Aid AND CPR certificates will not be considered. Please note that BLS does not count as First Aid. First Aid must be specifically listed on the card/certificate. Online certifications are only accepted if they are obtained through a blended learning class, which is composed of an online portion and an instructor-led skills session, which is taught in person. Certificates must meet guidelines of the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

THE POSITION Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, Student Support Services and the Director/Assistant Director of Student Welfare and Success and under the professional direction of a California Credentialed School Nurse (hereafter abbreviated to credentialed school nurse), a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will be required to meet the medical needs of all students. This includes providing specialized health care services to students, including medically fragile or profoundly disabled students; administering first aid, dispensing prescribed medication to students, including injections to diabetic students, and performing other health-related functions; maintaining site health records and ordering health supplies; promoting the health of children, and performs other health-related duties as assigned.
