Job Summary
Under general direction, to perform a variety of complex and specialized secretarial and clerical work. Duties typically involve the use of a computer terminal with various types of software packages, with responsibility for designated processes and services, in an administrative office, school or extension office. To relieve the department head and his/her supervisory support staff of administrative detail; and to do related work as required. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Assists a department head and his/her supervisory support staff by planning, organizing and coordinating the support activities of a District division; serves as secretary to a department head and his/her supervisory staff, relieving them of administrative detail. - Composes correspondence independently or in accordance with general direction, types letters, reports, requisitions, and entries on forms, devising format as appropriate; assists staff in the completion of a variety of forms and documents. - Maintains supervisor’s calendar, makes appointments, and schedules meetings; screens incoming correspondence and calls, routing as appropriate; receives and responds to inquiries from District personnel and the general public. - Maintains a variety of specialized files and records; compiles, tallies, and reviews data for special reports for accuracy; prepares reports independently or from brief verbal instructions or notes using independent judgment in securing and categorizing the data; assists in the budget planning and expenditure control process. - Receives and processes applications for facility use, posts data to the computer, confers with user groups or school site personnel regarding scheduling and any special needs or “set-ups”. - Schedules, maintains and publishes detailed calendar of events related to facility usage; interprets and applies specific policies, rules and fee structure related to facility scheduling; - Maintains a variety of data bases related to Civic Center
Requirements / Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED - Bilingual Preferred LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS - Valid California Driver’s License - Energy Management Systems training

A written test is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm. (picture ID required). Late arrivals will not be admitted for testing.
Current employees working in a different job classification and desiring to make application for a vacant position should complete and submit an Application for Classified Employment to the Personnel Office prior to the posted deadline. An employee requesting to transfer from one work site to another work site in the same job classification, must complete and submit a classified Request for Transfer to the Personnel Office prior to the deadline. Outside applicants will also be considered.
