Under the general supervision of an assigned administrator, assists with the District’s student ELPAC assessment program; performs a wide variety of clerical and student assessment work involving several specific routines within broadly defined policies and procedures. All ELPAC testers are required to speak, read, and write in English. Must be able to attend the ELPAC Calibration Training on Monday, February 3rd. Passing the ELPAC Calibration Training is required for employment. There are 3 testing windows: Spring (Summative ELPAC): February 3rd 2025 - May 30th 2025 Summer (Initial ELPAC): July 28th 2025 - August 8th 2025 Fall (Initial ELPAC Test): August 28th 2025 - September 30th 2025 Note: These dates are approximations
Requirements / Qualifications
SKILLS: -Must be reliable and punctual -Capable of self-direction in completing assigned tasks -Able to follow directions, written or spoken -Basic math, including the use of fractions, percentages, and /or ratios -Skilled with Google Meet communication platform to administer the assessment digitally -General knowledge of working with computers, printers, and copy machines -Work cooperatively with ELPAC team members and site staff members -Communicate with the ELPAC team and administrator using the assigned Milpitas USD email -Communicate with personal cell phones for text messaging -Maintain confidentiality regarding students and school records -Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation to drive to school sites
Duties include, but are not limited to: The job of ELPAC Test Examiner position is designed to support the testing program in that the primary responsibility is to assure that tests are scheduled, conducted, scored, recorded, and reported according to established procedures and timelines of administering and scoring initial and annual assessment of English Learner students. This position requires documenting information on students' proficiency in English; maintains files and/or records for the purpose of ensuring an up-to-date reference trail. Maintains the inventory of test material for the purpose of ensuring the availability of material as needed. Prepares written materials (e.g., correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to school and district personnel. Lead and assists other testers in organizing and completing testing and scoring. DUTIES: -Administer tests to K-12 students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening -Prepare materials for testing -Perform a variety of clerical duties -Attend required meetings and training sessions Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 70-% sitting, 20% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
