
Instructional Materials Specialist at Fullerton Elementary School District

POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District and Personnel Commission is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time Instructional Materials Specialist position. This classification is distinguished from other warehouse classifications in that the Instructional Materials Specialist is primarily responsible for processing specific instructional materials requests and coordinating distributions district-wide at the centralized District Warehouse. This career opportunity is an 8-hours/day, 12-month position with paid holidays, sick leave, vacation, and a comprehensive benefits package of health benefits, dental, vision and life insurance. Anticipated work hours are 7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday through Friday. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school Experience: Two years of paid experience conducting inventory control of instructional materials is required. Experience in the coordination of instructional materials dissemination is desirable. Ability to: * Drive a District truck to deliver a variety of materials and supplies to school sites and other locations over previously established routes. * Sort, process, organize, and prepare instructional materials for distribution, storage, and discard. * Conduct physical inventory related to instructional materials. * Provide information and respond to District personnel related to instructional materials and District library procedures. * Coordinate with District personnel for site delivery and returns. * Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Knowledge of: Applicable laws and regulations related to school instructional materials (e.g., Common Core requirements; Williams legislation, including instructional material review in the areas of math, language arts, science, history); safe driving practices and traffic laws. License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination process may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be one year. Dates of Anticipated Examinations The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date, and place of the examinations.
