About the Employer

The Goleta Union School District (GUSD) serves approximately 3,384 students in preschool through sixth grade across nine elementary schools. All schools offer transitional kindergarten and strong support services, including special education and mental health, in addition to after-school care at all nine schools supporting approximately 1,500 students. GUSD offers embedded programs to address specific needs of gifted students and English Learners across the district. Each school maintains a 1.0–1.5 full time positions to support intervention needs for all students. Job Summary

Position being hired for the Expanded Learning after school program. Under the direction of the assigned administrator, the Associate Mental Health Specialist performs supervised individual and group counseling and attends weekly supervision. This role provides assessment, treatment planning, and clinical service counseling. They may also perform other related tasks that are a part of departmental operations. Work is supervised by professional staff, and individual clinical work is supervised by a licensed clinician.

Requirements / Qualifications

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Social Worker (ASW) Master’s degree or higher in psychology, counseling, or a related field, and have either applied for or received an Associate number with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences by the date of hire. Bilingual candidates preferred
