Welcome to the Santa Maria-Bonita School District website. We are the largest school district in Santa Barbara County with about 17,500 pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade students. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Assigned Supervisor, organize and direct operations and activities involved in the identification and recruitment of students for Migrant Education programs and services; coordinate communications, compliance functions, personnel, and information to meet Migrant Education recruitment needs and ensure smooth and efficient activities; train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; Review and enter enrollment data. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Organize and direct operations and activities involved in the identification and recruitment of students for Migrant Education programs and services. ? Assure recruitment activities comply with established standards, requirements, laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures. ? Coordinate communications, compliance functions, personnel, and information to meet Migrant Education recruitment needs and ensure smooth and efficient activities. ? Resolve identification and recruitment issues and conflicts in a proper and timely manner. ? Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. ? Assign employee duties and review work to assure compliance with established standards, requirements, and procedures; serve as a liaison and coordinate recruitment communications, activities, and information between personnel, administrators, faculty, school sites, outside organizations, the public, and various local, State and Federal agencies. ? Coordinate Statewide and local re-interviews. ? Maintain current knowledge of laws, codes, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and pending legislature related to Migrant Education recruitment functions. ? Assist in establishing and maintaining recruitment timelines and priorities. ? Assist in the development and implementation of identification and recruitment services, programs, standards, projects, plans, strategies, goals, and objectives. ?
