SITE CLERK
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of receptionist, clerical, data entry, and keyboarding work involving specific routines, and broadly defined policies and procedures in the management of an office; provide information to administrators, staff, students, parents, and members of the community.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Perform a wide variety of clerical work including data entry, typing, filing, photocopying, faxing, checking, and recording information on a variety of forms, records, and other documents. E
Serve as receptionist and greeter for administrators, students, staff, and the general public; answer and provide routine information pertaining to the office and/or department with regards to standards, procedures, and programs. E
Assist the School Office Manager and/or department secretary in a variety of office work, such as student attendance. E
Enter master schedule for class attendance lists; input daily and accurate corrections and updates; assist in opening new classes and balancing class size. E
Enter and maintain accurate records relating to student record files, class schedule planning, results of proficiency tests, grades, and grade forms. E
May work in a variety of locations, including school or district office and be assigned to do other functions such as attendance, health, registration and guidance relating to students. E
Assist in the health office as needed by providing and administering first aid, prescribed medications, and attend to sick or injured students. E
Prepare and type routine letters, reports, requisitions, lunch tickets/checks, school and/or department news bulletin, and other materials from rough draft copy, notes, or verbal instructions. E
Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and conformity with the established procedures. E
Assure that there are health records on file for every student; and alert the school nurse to serious medical conditions and any severe allergies. E
SITE CLERK – (CONTINUED):
Take temperature; administer first aid and medication to and for students in accordance with established District policy and procedure. E
May perform basic blood sugar level reading as required for students. E
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly office. E
Copy, collate, and distribute materials, rosters, memos, informational packets, and other correspondence as required. E
Sort and distribute mail. E
Assist in ordering, receiving, distributing, and maintaining supplies and materials. E
Collect, count, record, and deposit fees and monies for various fundraising activities, lunch accounts, and other functions. E
Contact certificated and/or classified substitute desks for replacement coverage. E
Maintain timekeeping for school and/or department staff and submit to payroll. E
Maintain confidential student records and staff files. E
May attend meetings and take minutes. E
Operate and maintain a variety of office machines, including personal computer, typewriter, copier, and fax machine. E
Serve as School Office Manager and/or department secretary as needed. E
Greet visitors, parents, and students in person and over the telephone, providing assistance and information. E
Perform other related duties as needed.

Basic first aid and CPR.
Personal hygiene practices.
Correct medical procedures for blood sugar level reading or willing to be trained.
Familiarity with school and district organization and objectives.

Complete a variety of tasks with speed and accuracy, while handling frequent interruptions.
Type or enter data a net corrected rate of 50 wpm.
Operate office machines, including personal computer, typewriter, calculator, and copier.
Perform comparisons and calculations rapidly, accurately, and efficiently.
Calculate grade point averages.
Use good judgment regarding appropriate action to assist injured or sick students.
Demonstrate and understanding, patient, and receptive attitude towards, students, staff,
and members of the community.

Speak clearly and distinctly in person and on the telephone.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of general and increasingly responsible clerical and secretarial work. Prior experience in providing first aid and assistance preferred.

Hearing and speaking to exchange information and in person or on the telephone.

Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

Lifting or moving objects, normally not exceeding thirty (30) pounds.
