Job Summary
The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until cancelled. (The names of eligible candidates on the current list will be merged to the new list in accordance with final scores) There are currently multiple positions open at various sites and as rovers. These are 8 hour/day, 12 month position. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, maintain clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly assigned buildings and facilities for students, staff, and the public by performing a variety of cleaning and custodial duties; secure rooms and buildings; and perform special leaning and building maintenance periodically.
Requirements / Qualifications
Training and Experience: The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this classification would typically be acquired through any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and previous experience in cleaning and operating similar equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of: Proper methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work. Appropriate health and safety regulations related to cleaning methods, practices, procedures and equipment. Proper wear and usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). District and site policies, procedures, and objectives of assigned program and activities. Record-keeping techniques. Oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills. Proper lifting techniques. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy. Ability to: Perform heavy manual labor. Work without immediate supervision. Efficiently and effectively use cleaning materials, supplies and equipment. Operate custodial equipment and tools. Maintain work pace and accuracy to meet schedules and timelines. Learn and perform record-keeping techniques. Understand, follow, and carry out oral and written instructions. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Read, interpret, and follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Communicate with diverse groups and individuals.
