Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Payroll and Purchasing, the Manager - Payroll & Retirement is responsible to lead and participate in the operations and activities of internal and district payroll services; oversee and audit the preparation, processing and maintenance of internal and district payrolls to ensure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner; oversee the preparation, auditing, analysis, updating and adjusting of monthly retirement reports using applicable CalPERS and CalSTRS regulations; train district staff and provide work direction and guidance to assigned personnel.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business related field Three (3) years of related accounting or auditing experience with a governmental agency Licenses and Certifications: California Driver’s License with evidence of insurability
