
Student Transportation Van Driver at Fullerton Elementary School District
Requirements / Qualifications
POSITION DETAILS The Fullerton School District is seeking qualified individuals to fill part-time Student Transportation Van Driver positions to drive a school transportation vehicle, such as a district van or other transportation vehicle, on an assigned route to transport students and/or staff to and from school, field trips, and other locations as directed, providing supervision and direction to passengers. Please note, this position is distinguished from the Bus Driver classification such the it will not operate a school bus, and will only be operating a vehicle that requires a Class C Driver's License. This career opportunity is a 25 hours/week, 9.65-month position with paid holidays, sick leave and vacation. The District offers a comprehensive package of health benefits, dental, vision and life insurance. Must be able to work between the hours of 6:00AM to 5:00PM. This position will have a split shift. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Sufficient education and training to successfully and legally perform the duties listed. Experience: Experience driving passengers in a variety of driving, weather and road conditions; work history demonstrating dependability and reliability and a safe driving record. Additional Requirements License and Certificates: : Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and must be insurable and maintain insurability to drive a District vehicle. Must complete medical examination pursuant to California Vehicle Code and receive a valid medical certificate within probationary period. EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a merged promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test, performance test and/or structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each part of the examination. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each part of the examination. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Commission Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be six months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill future vacancies. Date of Examination The date of the examination(s) will be announced at a later date. Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email, and/or telephone of the time, date and place of the examination(s).
