This is a posting for part time, temporary teaching. POSITION: Adult School Tai Chi Instructor LOCATION: Berkeley Adult School - Longfellow Dining Commons DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and deliver short-term courses of interest to community members who pay fees covering course costs. Provide group instruction in tai chi in a manner appropriate to students who may have limited balance, coordination, sight or hearing abilities. Provide individual instruction as needed. This class is part of our Life Long Learning program which targets older adults as students. QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and knowledge for effectively delivering instruction in Tai Chi. Provide students clear expectations for what they will be learning and how. Use a variety of instructional methods to reach diverse adult learners. Adjust strategies to support student learning. A California teaching credential is desirable but not required.
