Reports to: Assistant Head of School Position type: Full-time, Exempt, Year-round (12 month) Bentley School is a K-12 co-educational, independent day school located on two campuses in Oakland (K-8) and Lafayette (9-12), California. Founded in 1920, Bentley School's legacy of excellence in teaching and learning maximizes student success in college and throughout their lives. Bentley is an inclusive community that shares a vision of academic achievement, balance, and the cultivation of character. The Director of Athletics oversees the school’s athletic programming and facility rentals and is responsible for the administration of the athletic program in grades 6-12. This position reports to the Assistant Head of School and serves on the school’s Leadership Team. The Director of Athletics is responsible for leading, developing, and growing the athletic program while representing Bentley to the wider community. Bentley is searching for a visionary leader and culture builder who has shown success in building successful athletic programming that allows students to grow as athletes, leaders, and people. This is a full-time position that requires regular evening and weekend commitments for athletic events, meetings, and other responsibilities. Responsibilities (including but are not limited to:) Program Leadership and Development: ? Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive athletic program that meets the needs of a diverse student body. ? Ensure alignment of the athletic program with the school’s mission, values, and educational goals. ? Promote a positive culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, inclusion, and personal growth among students, coaches, and families. ? Stay current with trends, best practices, and regulations in youth athletics and ensure compliance with applicable local, state and national athletic associations. ? Conduct regular coaches meetings, and observe coaches regularly to mentor, grow, and retain the strongest coaches. Management:
