
Substitute Instructional Assistant - Special Education at Anaheim Elementary School District (TK-6)
Requirements / Qualifications
• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. • Must have an AA degree or higher or at least 48 semester units of General Education or pass an Assessment Test. • One year experience working with children in an organized setting. • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and one year experience working with children in an organized setting. • Knowledge of child guidance principles, especially as they relate to special education students. • Knowledge of basic subjects taught in District schools. • Ability to assist with instruction and related activities in an assigned special education program. • Ability to perform clerical duties and maintain cooperative relations with others. • Ability to provide support to the teacher by setting up work areas, displays, exhibits, and operating audio-visual and therapeutic equipment. • Ability to implement lesson plans developed by the teacher and assist with group or one-on-one instruction. • Ability to reinforce instruction to students with learning disabilities, severe handicaps and language, communication and behavioral problems. • Potential exposure to blood, other bodily fluids, and physically abusive children.
