Job Summary

To plan, organize and implement outreach activities for at risk youth designed to promote: delinquency prevention, academic enhancement, personal guidance and support, leadership development, career planning and preparation, cultural identity and intercultural respect, community awareness and positive public relations. The At Risk Youth Technician is expected to work closely with school site administrators, counselors, teachers and parents to identify students who are at risk of being unsuccessful in school and/or as future citizens in the community and to provide a variety of appropriate interventions. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Communicates regularly with school staff and Student Study Team to develop interventions and coordinate services for at risk youth; acts as a liaison between the school and families of at risk youth to facilitate communication and for jointly supporting intervention plans • Maintains records of student participation at risk youth activities as well as individual student progress made; reports specific progress of students to school staff and compiles reports for community presentations concerning the success of at risk youth activities in relation to stated goals • Prepares and types reports, correspondence, work permits, forms and requisitions as it relates to at risk youth activities; creates and prints artistic bulletins, brochures, tickets, forms, occupational materials and displays for at risk youth activities; operates a computer terminal and instructs students in its use.

Two years of youth activities experience preferably with adolescent youth; completion of high school diploma; or Equivalent combination of experience and education.
