THE POSITION
The Personnel Services Division is accepting applications for Manager – Human Resources/ Employee Benefits. Under the direction of the Director, Workforce Development and Support Unit, organizes and administers the SCCOE's employee health and welfare benefit programs, disability plans, tax shelter and IRC 125 plans; provides unemployment insurance claims administration services to the SCCOE, school districts and charter schools throughout Santa Clara County; assures compliance with legislation and related laws, rules and regulations applicable to health and welfare benefits and unemployment insurance; supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in benefits administration, compliance, and industry trends, with the ability to analyze data, and enhance employee engagement. They will excel in strategic planning, effectively working cross-functionally with Human Resources, payroll, and leadership, ensuring that benefits programs align with our organizational goals. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. This position is full-time, in-person and has a work year of 12 months / 261 days / 8 hours. Leadership team members are eligible to receive a $2,500 annual stipend for a master’s degree and a $2,500 additional stipend for a doctorate, provide official documentation is submitted. - Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
- The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for January 21, 2025.
- Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for January 29, 2025.
- Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
- Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for February 5, 2025.
- Second interviews may be held in-person.
