Job Summary

Teach high school students the basics of Python programming. You’ll guide students through key topics like data types, control structures, algorithm development, and program design using functions. Help them unlock their creativity by teaching how to define object classes, build interactive applications with buttons, explore animation, and design their own interactive games. You’ll also cover important principles of object-oriented programming and data processing techniques. If you’re passionate about coding and enjoy inspiring young learners, we’d love to hear from you! Open Position: Introduction to Python Programming Language Instructor Rate: $80 hr Dates/Time: June 30 to July 25 (8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.) Location: This instructor position will be teaching in person classes for the De Anza Summer Academy program on campus.

Requirements / Qualifications

Requirements: Three or more years working/teaching experience in subject area. Valid California teaching credential preferred but not required for this position. Other Requirements: - Provide an instructional program as defined by district Standards of California State Standards, using the adopted curriculum, for assigned students. - Submit a complete course outline and syllabus prior to the beginning of program. - Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide planned experiences in order to motivate students and best utilize instructional time. - Utilize the appropriate instruction techniques, activities, strategies, and supplemental materials that will adapt the curriculum to the needs of individual students and be consistent with District goals. - Collaborate with other program members. - Fulfill assigned responsibilities for student supervision. - Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. - Establish and maintain a standard of student behavior needed to achieve a desirable learning atmosphere which provides physical and psychological security. - Prepare and submit, in a timely manner, all required attendance reports and information as required.
