Job Summary
The Chief Program Officer, Community Programs (CPO-Comm) serves as a key executive team leadership member and an active participant in making strategic decisions affecting the San Diego Center for Children. Responsible for the leadership, development, implementation, and oversight of community-based programs including Behavioral Health Services contracted programs and fee for service programs for children and adolescents with behavioral health needs. The CPO will provide leadership in identifying new services or programs which further the Center’s reputation and economic viability. She/he will work with Clinical Directors and Managers to ensure that best practices, appropriate to the Center’s population, are utilized in the delivery of all services. Responsible for ensuring the highest quality care and safety in coordination with Senior Leadership for the enhancement and growth of all services and positive client outcomes. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and represents the Center to all major stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership, Management and Compliance Oversight: Provide leadership to all program directors, managers, supervisors, and direct care staff members that motivates and rewards high quality performance, supports effective staff recruitment and results in positive retention. Ongoing assessment of programs to implement and/or refine programs to meet the Center’s standards of excellence and all regulatory requirements to provide optimal level of safety, clinical care for the population served, including adherence to the standards of Medi-Cal, DHCS, and the Joint Commission on Accreditation, and preparation and participation in all audits and site visits. Coordinate with Chief Compliance Officer and Quality Assurance Director to ensure that clinical and professional behavior and documentation demonstrates quality care and is compliant with obligations of contracts, funders and regulators, and agency policies and
Requirements / Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must be a licensed clinician (MFT, LCSW, LPC or Psychologist) with four years post-licensure A minimum of seven years clinical experience working in behavioral healthcare with children Minimum of five years of demonstrated progressive supervision/management experience Multicultural awareness; strong communication and writing skills Strong leadership skills Valid California Driver’s License PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Experience in leading mental health professional training programs. Experience writing grant proposals and/or proposals to secure government contracts (e.g., County BHS, School Districts) Knowledge of WIC Medi-Cal Specialty Mental Health for Children, CalAIM, and Special Education law
