We have an exciting opportunity for a Mathematics Instructor located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Mathematics Instructor to teach and develop courses in Mathematics. This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. The ideal candidate is student-oriented in their approach and dedicated to student success and will be skilled in generating student engagement in learning and will create welcoming learning environments that are equity-based and culturally affirming. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus, off-campus, and online classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. A Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics (attach transcripts); OR 2. A Bachelor's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics; AND A Master's degree in statistics, physics, or mathematics education (attach transcripts); OR 3. The Equivalent; AND 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff ***Before scanning attachments, remove/redact sensitive, confidential information such as date of birth, social security number, address and photograph*** DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Recent (within the last 5 years) teaching experience in a variety of Mathematics including Statistics and Calculus 2. Demonstrated commitment to remain current in diverse teaching methods and learning styles, as applied to teaching Mathematics in online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities 3. Experience with innovative learning models (Supplemental Instruction, Accelerated Learning, Embedded Tutoring, Distance Education) 4. Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented or marginalized groups meet their educational goals in a classroom environment that fosters student equity 5. Expertise in Open Educational Resources (OER) and substantial contributions to the advancement and development of OER initiatives 6. Demonstrated expertise in making significant contributions to a Mathematics Department, with a focus on program review, curriculum development, tutoring services, and professional development initiatives
