Job Summary
The job of Inclusion Assistant is for the purpose of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom by providing instruction to individual and/or small groups of students in an assigned special education program; monitoring and reporting student progress regarding behavior and performance; and providing clerical support to teacher/s and staff related to classroom activities. This job reports to the Site Administrator or designee.
Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from secondary school or equivalent GED and one (1) year experience working with elementary school-age children with special needs in an organized educational, health, childcare, or other structured setting. (Please review the job description for more information) EXAMINATION PROCEDURES This is a promotional and open competitive recruitment. The examination may consist of a training and experience (supplemental responses) evaluation, written test or performance test and a structured oral interview. To qualify to be placed on an eligibility list, a candidate must obtain a passing score on each section of the examination process. Final scores will be obtained by combining the relative weights of scores on each test part. If Veteran's credit is claimed, proof of status (DD214) must be submitted to the Classified Personnel Office at the same time the application form is submitted or prior to testing. The life of the eligibility list will be twelve (12) months. The resulting eligibility list will be used to fill current and future permanent and substitute vacancies. Applicants who may need reasonable accommodation for interviewing or testing must notify the Personnel Department at (562) 690-2321, three business days prior to the testing date. Date of Examination Candidates who are among the most qualified shall be notified via email or telephone of the time, date, and place of the examination(s).
