The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Expanded Learning Programs Leader, implement Expanded Learning Programs and provide instruction to students enrolled in the Program at assigned school site; communicate with school personnel on program activities. This position is exempt from the classified bargaining unit.
Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: EDUCATION: High school diploma or recognized equivalent. AA degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: Over one year of paid or volunteer experience performing similar work with school-age children, i.e. instructional aide, teacher assistant, babysitting, child care. Experience as an instructional aide or paraprofessional in an educational setting preferred. SKILLS: Must be No Child Left Behind compliant through locally developed assessment or have 48 college units. Candidates who meet MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, but lack NCLB certification will be scheduled for an exam. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS The following must be submitted by the deadline date: *Complete online application *Resume *Unofficial College Transcripts (if applicable) *Proof of NCLB (if applicable) *Copy of degree (if applicable) *OPTIONAL: Letters of Recommendation ((3 recent letters; DATED & SIGNED within the past 18 months)) -Upon hire must present High School Diploma
