Job Summary
The Project Director II, Special Projects- STEM will oversee, monitor, and implement special projects within the STEM Mathematics and Science. In this role, the Project Director II will provide leadership and strategic direction for initiatives, focusing on curriculum embedded performance tasks, inquiry-based pedagogy, enhancing teacher leadership, professional development, and family and community engagement in math, science, and computer science. The Project Director II will collaborate closely with the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education (CDE), and other County Offices of Education to manage budgets, market and outreach to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to identify participating educators and educational partners, coordinate and manage grant-related deliverables, support the creation of professional learning materials, and schedule as well as deliver training and technical assistance to partner educators. Additionally, they will capture and analyze data to monitor and support program evaluation. The Project Director II must have expertise in developing both formative and summative performance assessment, coupled with a deep understanding of inquiry-driven pedagogy and experience in large-scale project management. This role involves making critical decisions that influence the goals, structure, and administration of educational programs in schools and LEAs. The Project Director II will also collaborate with internal LACOE, the California Department of Education, the State Board of Education, grant administrators, and LEA administrators and staff. This position is crucial in advancing STEM education by ensuring the successful execution of these key initiatives, ultimately preparing students for college and career success. This is a grant funded position.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related and progressive educational administrative experiences in public school setting as a site, district, or county office administrator. Professional development experience is required. Education: A Master’s degree or higher in education from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (Please provide a copy of each credential document as it appears on the California Teaching Credential website with the document number on it.): • Possess and maintain a valid California teaching credential and with full English Learner authorization (CLAD, BCLAD or equivalent). and • Possess and maintain a valid clear administrative credential.
