Qualifications: Education/Experience: • AA degree required, Bachelor’s preferred • Proficiency in second language strongly preferred • Experience working with Historically Under Represented families and students • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience working with multidisciplinary teams; bicultural, bilingual a plus. • Experience with PAUSD online platforms that support classroom and school programs, Infinite Campus, Schoology and Blackboard desired • Knowledge of PAUSD school programs and resources a plus • Satisfactory work history • PAUSD Parent Liaison Certificate program training desirable • Maintain a valid California Driver’s License RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Equity Coordinator, the Family Engagement Specialist will work to establish relationships that empower, guide, and support historically underrepresented (HUR) parents of students in the PAUSD to become strong advocates for their children’s education and social and emotional well-being. Specific duties include being able to: • Deliver outreach, resources and supportive services to HUR families and Voluntary Transfer Program students attending Palo Alto schools • Develop relationships with families that facilitate and support increased parent engagement and involvement in the school community and the advocacy of their children’s academic and socio-emotional learning • Establish and maintain regular communication with parents to inform them of school, district, and community events and opportunities in their preferred language • Provide support necessary to guide parents in navigating PAUSD systems in support of their child’s academic, social and emotional needs • Coordinate, promote participation, and attend school-wide events with families to promote inclusion in the school community • Coordinate, promote, and facilitate regular attendance at parent meetings and events around topics of interest to parents • Assist parents in devel
