Job Summary

Job Summary

ASSIGNMENT: District Services Facility, 8.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 12 months per year. Regularly assigned shift is: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Summer schedule will be 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a variety of journey level maintenance, installation, and repair work on the District's heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, chillers, low pressure boiler systems, refrigeration systems, and skilled journey level work in the building maintenance trades area, including but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and masonry.

Requirements / Qualifications

A valid California driver's license; Possess and maintain appropriate Universal EPA certification to purchase, install and handle all refrigerants as outlined in Section 608 of the Clean Air Act. Have or can acquire and maintain operator’s certificates for forklift, man lift, and knuckle boom lift. DESIRED: California DPR-QAC-A certification to handle hydronic system chemicals; Low-Pressure Boiler Certification; NATE “North American Technician Excellence” certified – HVAC; Advanced CAL-OSHA Safety Training

Completion of twelfth grade; and apprenticeship program or equivalent in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or Technical college degree or college degree in HVAC. Four (4) years’ experience in building maintenance including three (3) years journey level experience in the repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, chillers, low pressure boilers, cooling towers, hydronic systems, and large refrigerated systems. A written test will be given prior to the interview, for those selected.
