THE POSITION: The Coordinator III, Little Black GENIUSes & Families shall provide leadership as well as technical, specialized, consultative, advisory, and planning services to LACOE staff and delegate agencies in the areas of equity and access with the aim of increasing the number of Black/African American male students enrolled in early learning programs and targeted support to their families. The Coordinator III will plan, develop, implement, monitor and evaluate programs and services focused on anti-racism, equity, access with an exclusive focus on male Black/African American early learning students, both in delegate agencies and within LACOE. This position will coordinate and align support with the LACOE Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Division. The Coordinator III will provide professional development, on-site technical assistance, and guidance to ensure equitable policies and practices

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Experience: Five or more years of comprehensive, directly related, and progressive educational administration experience making progress in closing achievement gaps and reducing suspensions and expulsions for Black/African American boys. Including three years of professional development experience racial equity, access, school improvement or a closely related field. Education: A Master’s degree in education, social work, counseling or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. Equivalent to a Master’s degree in education or a closely related field from an institution of higher learning accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation .

In order to be considered as a candidate, the application must include email and phone contact information for three professional references. One reference must be your current supervisor. Select individuals who can comment on your skills, work ethic, and abilities based on their professional experience with you. Ideally, these references should be former supervisors or colleagues, who have directly observed your work performance.
