QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school. Two (2) years of stock or store keeping work, or experience involving stock record keeping or office experience and filing duties. Ability to pass the District Proficiency Examination at the level appropriate for the job classification. LICENSES: Possess and maintain a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Certification to operate a forklift or willingness to learn. Class B License required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: KNOWLEDGE OF: Store keeping procedures, including methods of proper and orderly storage and issuance of materials. Stock inventory procedures. Requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and delivery reports and the use and meaning of each. Basic math skills. Proper methods of lifting ABILITY TO: Fill orders accurately from requisitions and to check incoming shipments against purchase orders. Perform manual labor. Drive a forklift and truck. Keep stores and storage facilities in clean and orderly fashion. Follow oral and written instructions. Maintain files and statistical records. Utilize proper telephone procedures and techniques. Maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties. Observe legal and defensive driving practices. Be familiar with standard stock materials housed in warehouse.
