Job Summary
Under supervision of the Director of Classified Personnel, to act as the District Office receptionist; to assist in the recruiting, testing and interview process; maintain the District room reservation calendar; and perform related work as required. - Operates a complex multi-line VoIP telephone system to receive incoming and facilitate outgoing calls for the District; makes appointments and interviews callers and either furnishes the desired information, refers caller to proper authority, or arranges an appointment; provides factual information regarding policy and procedure to public and staff; informs supervisor of pertinent information from public and staff inquiries. - Receives, greets, and directs visitors as appropriate; provides a variety of routine information to staff, students, and the general public; and ensures that visitors have proper authorization to enter restricted access areas. - Performs applicant tracking activities, such as preparing and distributing job announcements; receiving and reviewing applications for completeness; inputting applicant data into appropriate computer database system; scheduling, administering and correcting written personnel examinations; and notifying applicants of test results. - Schedules and conducts interviews to asses candidates’ ability to perform the applied positions; screens applications for suitability for positions; schedules and conducts interviews of qualified applicants; uses good judgment in the background screening and selection of employees; monitors fingerprint clearances; - Assigns substitute employees using good judgment; monitors assignments in relations to credential authorization; monitors credential expiration; - Prepares correspondence, lists, bulletins, forms, purchase orders and specialized documents. - Compiles data for report preparation; proofreads documents and reports; attends to a variety of clerical details.

An employee requesting to transfer from one work site to another work site in the same job classification, must complete and submit a classified Request for Transfer to the Personnel Office prior to the deadline. Outside applicants will also be considered.
