Brief Summary - See Full Job Description General Job Description The Chief Business Official (CBO) establishes strategic direction and provides leadership of the finances within SUSD. Key deliverables include: maintaining a multi-year financial outlook, creation of an annual budget, maintaining a General Ledger, providing financial reporting in accordance with Governmental Accounting Standards and state statutes, and ensuring appropriate service delivery and outcomes associated with operational functions including accounting, budgeting, purchasing, disbursements, cash management, facility monitoring, risk management and financial planning, analysis and reporting. This position requires strong attention to meeting deadlines, details and communication skills.

Preferred/Desired Experience: * 3-5 years of increasingly responsible experience * Knowledge of accounting and auditing * Public school experience * Knowledge of Aeries SIS system Required Experience: * Experience in the fiscal aspects of school district facilities/bond maintenance and operations programs also preferred. * Specific CBO training in process or completed * Knowledge of the new funding formula (LCFF) as well as knowledge of Escape and CalPads.

The District is seeking a dedicated CBO with the requisite experience, knowledge, and ability to maintain and promote the district vitality in a fiscally challenging environment as well as working in a collaborative manner as part of a team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and interpersonal skills, working with staff, the school board, and the Superintendent to collaboratively provide quality educational services to students. Responsibilities include preparation of budgets, financial reports, assistance with facilities, monitoring of bond funds and projects, assisting with AP/AR, nutrition, attendance and other state reporting requirements.
The district offers annually: 12 sick days, 25 vacation days & 14 paid holidays.
Benefits include: Dental, Vision and Life Insurance paid 100% by district. District paid cap of medical benefits for employee and family.
