Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Preschool Programs, develop, plan, and prepare menus and menu specifications to provide quality, nutritionally balanced meals in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations; perform nutritional analysis; promote nutrition wellness and nutrition education programs within the District. ** Please note this is not under Food Services.

Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier. HEALTH BENEFITS: Permanent full-time employees receive $9,660.00 toward the purchase of medical, dental, and vision coverage. Benefits for permanent part-time employees are prorated according to the number of hours worked per week.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in foods and nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a closely related pediatric field. • Must have knowledge and experience with completing nutrition assessments, developing care plans and implementing interventions, and overall management of nutrition services. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication in English and Spanish. • Prior clinical and public health experience is desired. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Valid California driver’s license and use of a personal automobile. An applicant for this class will be required to obtain, at his/her own expense, and submit his/her motor vehicle driving record at the time of appointment. The record must meet and be maintained at the District’s safe driving record standard. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the disqualification of the applicant. • Registered Dietitian License
