Job Summary & Essential Functions: The Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director has a special responsibility to ensure that all aspects of his/her team reflect the Catholic Christian philosophy of the school and to assist the Athletic Director in making certain that the athletic program is a clear reflection of that philosophy. Primary Responsibilities: • Reports directly to the Athletic Director. • Carries out school policies in all athletic matters. • Represents the Athletic Director in all aspects of the athletic program in his/her absence. • Performs any other duties as assigned by Athletic Director. • Supervises all assistant coaches as to professionalism, ethics, adherence to school, CIF, CAA and league policies. • Collaborates with HR to ensure all Assistant Coaches meet ADLA Guidelines. • Confers with the Athletic Director on a regular basis and on his/her advice, arranges for the details, procedures and mechanics of his entire system so as to ensure there will exist a uniform and definite policy for the proper functioning of that activity. • Manages and supervises football activities, contests and practice sessions to promote individual growth in football skills, team skills, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship. • Takes all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials and facilities. • Works with Athletic Director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements. • Collects paperwork (permission form, medical release, emergency card) from each athlete before allowing him/her to participate in any manner and forwards paperwork to athletic director. • Develops and coordinates a continuing evaluation of the coaching staff and program, and makes changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the program.
Requirements / Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications: • A minimum 5 years of experience as a high school varsity or higher-level football coach is required. • Catholic High School and/or Head Coaching experience preferred. • High School Diploma • ADLA Live Scan, VIRTUS certification, TB Test, First Aid & CPR
