Job Summary
Central Union High School District is searching for an experienced and talented Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Grounds. The person selected will be responsible for guiding and supporting teams directly under their supervision by organizing resources, inspiring employees, and maximizing output. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and be a team player. Examples of Duties: Under general direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Support Services, plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages the District-wide facilities, maintenance, and grounds operations; prepares records, reports, cost estimates and budget recommendations related to assigned activities and departments; trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of multiple crews of journeyman-level skilled trade, grounds and maintenance staff; Directs the planning and development of school buildings and sites; coordinates facility projects from planning through completion; and performs related duties as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES: • High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalent. • Two years of experience in public schools performing work comparable to a facilities supervisor OR four years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds including two years in a supervisory capacity. • Knowledge and experience in the building and construction trades. • Valid Class C California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record. • Criminal justice fingerprint clearance. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to travel between school sites and be available for on-call, and emergency call services seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day.
