Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physics Teacher teaching physics courses, covering fundamental and advanced topics such as mechanics, electricity, optics, thermodynamics, and modern physics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of physics but also the ability to design challenging curriculum content to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills among students.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver physics courses for grades 9-12 in alignment with New York State educational standards.
• Develop clear lesson plans covering core topics like mechanics, wave theory, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics.
• Engage students through diverse teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments.
• Organize and guide students in conducting physics experiments to illustrate theoretical concepts.
• Ensure the proper use of laboratory equipment and maintain high standards of laboratory safety.
• Evaluate and track student progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Participate in school activities, events, and professional development to contribute to the NYMA community.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to develop cross-curricular projects and support a STEAM-focused educational environment.
