Requirements / Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). • Certification: State teaching certification in Physics (preferred). • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching mathematics at the high school level. • Skills: o Strong knowledge of Physics curriculum standards and best teaching practices. o Ability to integrate technology and interactive methods in Physics instruction. o Proficiency in using teaching and laboratory equipment, familiarity with online teaching platforms, and related educational tools. o Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. o Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Key Responsibilities • Design and deliver physics courses for grades 9-12 in alignment with New York State educational standards. • Develop clear lesson plans covering core topics like mechanics, wave theory, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, and modern physics. • Engage students through diverse teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments. • Organize and guide students in conducting physics experiments to illustrate theoretical concepts. • Ensure the proper use of laboratory equipment and maintain high standards of laboratory safety. • Evaluate and track student progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs. • Participate in school activities, events, and professional development to contribute to the NYMA community. • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop cross-curricular projects and support a STEAM-focused educational environment.
