Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced IT/Cyber Security Specialist to manage NYMA’s IT systems and security protocols. This role includes responsibilities in cybersecurity, technical event support, and on-site troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT security, as well as technical support for events, printers, streaming, and other technology needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cybersecurity and Network Management: Monitor and secure NYMA’s network infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Security Camera Systems: Manage the setup, maintenance, and monitoring of security camera systems across campus.
• Social Media Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for social media-related issues, including troubleshooting access and security concerns.
• Event Support: Set up and provide technical support for conferences, including printers, big screens, and audiovisual equipment.
• Testing Event and Graduation Support: Offer on-site technical assistance during major events like AP exams, SATs, and graduation ceremonies, including live streaming setup, connectivity troubleshooting, and device management.
• Internet Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve internet connectivity issues, ensuring stable network performance for all users.
• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Handle printer setups, software installations, and regular IT maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Incident Response: Quickly respond to IT security incidents, such as data breaches or unauthorized access, leading investigation and remediation efforts.
• Cybersecurity Policies and Training: Develop IT security policies and train staff and students on cybersecurity best practices to prevent data breaches and cyber threats.
