CA Education Code Requires all Instructional Assistants/Paraprofessionals to meet the following requirements: Possess an Associate degree or completion of 48 college units or passage of the Instructional Aide Test can be accepted in lieu of degrees or units.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (Before beginning employment):
• Per Federal Law, all employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
• Must be fingerprinted in California and have background clearance from the Department of Justice and FBI
• The applicant must submit evidence that he or she is free from tuberculosis by Education Code 49406. (once hired and every four years thereafter)
• Within 6 months of employment, must complete required District training on topics such as Sexual Harassment and Abusive Conduct Prevention, and Mandated Reporter
