Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Services, plan, organize, coordinate and direct the District's facilities maintenance and operations functions; assure efficient and cost-effective departmental operations; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS CLASSIFIED: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or related field (preferred) • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in building operations or maintenance, including two years experience in a management or • supervisory capacity. CERTIFICATED: • Master’s degree in education or related field. • Five years of certificated school experience and two years of administrative experience in a school and/or school district. Experience in an elementary school setting is desirable. • Valid California Teaching Credential with English Learner Authorization or its • equivalent, and a valid California Administrative Credential. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the care, cleaning and maintenance of District grounds, buildings and facilities. • Ability to analyze work methods, schedules, equipment and staffing levels to increase division efficiency. • Ability to prepare, monitor and control the division budget. • Ability to plan and organize work; train, supervise and evaluate personnel. • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. • Ability to work from blueprints, shop drawings and sketches. • Knowledge of codes, materials, techniques and costs related to construction and building maintenance; cleaning materials, solutions, equipment, tools, hazardous chemicals and waste disposal methods. • Knowledge of financial and statistical record-keeping techniques; budgeting methods and practices; collective bargaining practices and procedures. • A valid Class C California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
