Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of a site administrator and assigned to certificated staff, an Instructional Aide: Special Circumstance Instructional Assistant (SCIA) assists a general education teacher and/or a Special Day Class (SDC) teacher in supervising the activities of an individual student or small groups of students; and performs related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education and Experience: 1. Possession of a high school diploma or its equivalent; and a. at least 48 college semester units earned at an institution of higher learning; or b. possession of a degree earned at an institution of higher learning; or c. a passing score of 70% or higher on the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Paraprofessional Examination. 2. Completion of District-assigned additional training related to the Special Education assignment 3. One year of experience working with children in an educational or learning environment. Requirements: 1. Applicants must be willing, and able, to assist students with toileting; change diapers, and soiled clothing as needed. District paid medical, dental, and vision prescription plans are provided for employee and dependents.
