Position Summary Santa Cruz Montessori School seeks an experienced, dynamic Development Director to lead and expand our fundraising and development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to Montessori principles, an ability to build strong relationships with community members, and a passion for supporting educational growth and community engagement. Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the school's programs, facilities, and financial aid initiatives. Annual Giving Campaigns: Plan, coordinate, and execute annual giving programs, including appeals, events, and targeted campaigns to ensure steady and growing financial support. Major Gifts & Grants: Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals. Donor Relations & Stewardship: Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring a meaningful and engaging donor experience. Implement stewardship practices, including acknowledgment letters, donor reports, and personalized follow-up. Event Planning: Organize and lead fundraising events, including the annual gala, donor appreciation gatherings, and community-building events, working closely with volunteers and staff to maximize engagement and fundraising potential.
