The Downey Foundation for Educational Opportunities (DFEO) is seeking a committed and passionate Program Supervisor for our expanded learning program, to lead an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, makes the world a better place, and be part of change. DFEO provides expanded learning programs before school, after school, in summer school and through intersession learning opportunities. These programs focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of students through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. The Program Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the expanded learning program, its Program Coordinators, and our 17 school sites. The Program Supervisor reports directly to the Programs Director. With the guidance of the Programs Director, the Program Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the overall program aspects of the Foundation from the conceptualization to the final execution. A Program Supervisor negotiates contracts and transactions with the suppliers and vendors for resources that meet the funding and budget limitations. They process documents and assist the program staff in coordinating with other organizations for program plans and potential sponsorships. A Program Supervisor must have excellent communication and organizational skills, especially in handling the program objectives and ensuring participant satisfaction. This position is responsible for the overall day to day operation and management of the after-school program in the areas of academic program development and program operations. The position reports to the Programs Director, and additionally accepts direction and tasking from the Executive Director.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing expanded learning programs required Previous background in education and youth development in a supervisory role required - Experience in developing, managing, and monitoring large budgets with multiple funding sources
