Job Summary

We are seeking a proven leader who will oversee, develop and enhance our burgeoning K-12 performing arts program which includes visual art, music, drama, and community programs in all curricular and extracurricular activities. The successful candidate will possess a contagious passion for integrating fine and performing arts and education and will collaborate with other administrators to execute the mission of The Cambridge School effectively and seamlessly. The purpose of the position is to develop, implement, direct, monitor, evaluate, and promote the school’s Fine and Performing Arts program. The successful candidate must have great attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and be a thoughtful, articulate, and experienced leader who will demonstrate the ability to represent and develop the programs well within the community.

Key Responsibilities 1. Inspire an enthusiastic and committed approach to teaching the fine and performing arts 2. Co-direct Upper School Fall and Spring productions (music emphasis for the spring production) 3. Demonstrate high levels of professionalism in the accurate completion of the administrative needs of the fine and performing arts department, meeting all deadlines, and providing proactive communication for promotional materials 4. Oversee and/or lead/direct the following programs, depending on experience, strengths and other staff members who are available: -Grammar School music classes -Grammar School performing arts productions -Grammar School art classes -Hymn singing in Grammar School morning time -Upper School Choir (160 students, 25 minutes/week) -Logic School Choir (before school twice a week) -Upper School Visual Art and Photography classes -7th grade Music Class-Schoolwide Spring Arts Festival -Select and work with student musicians for schoolwide events such as the Fall Campaign party -Piano accompaniment for schoolwide programs and events 7. Evaluate our current program and staff and suggest areas for growth 8. Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment Qualifications 1. 4+ years of performing arts management experience required, preferably in middle & high school 2. Vocal and piano proficiency 3. Knowledge of how to effectively market and communicate the values and mission of the school both internally and externally 4. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written 5. Ability to manage multiple projects and work closely with administration, parents, faculty, students, Board members and volunteers; detail oriented 6. A high level of integrity, warmth, confidence, a positive outlook, and a strong work ethic focused on achieving excellence with humility. Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure 7. Flexible in nature with the ability to quickly make changes when necessary to accommodate a dynamic environment 8. Must possess a passion for cultivating the love of the fine and performing arts in the lives of students, faculty, staff, and our parent community 9. Ability to interact with a variety of personalities effectively and earn the respect of all the constituencies of the school community
