Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director II - Assessment and Support and with direction from the Program Specialist - Behavior Emphasis, provides individualized applied behavioral and instructional support strategies and techniques.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience: Three (3) years of full-time work experience in a public or private agency working with children who exhibit behavioral or social maladjustments or post-secondary study in the area of child development, developmental disabilities, or social or human services. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Must submit proof of passage of the Basic Proficiency Test as required by California state law. Post-secondary study in the areas of child development, developmental disabilities or social or human services desired. The following additional documents must be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also): • Proof of education (i.e. high school diploma, college transcripts, copy of college diploma) A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. • The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. Examinations will be weighted 30% for written and 70% for oral. Candidates must obtain a composite score of 70% or better to qualify for the eligibility list. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator’s license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. For entry-level positions, veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of five points to their composite score. A copy of your DD-214 must be submitted at the time of application to receive veteran’s credit.
