The Baldwin Park Unified School District, under general direction, is seeking a Food Service Manager at the high school level to be responsible of a high school cafeteria. The Food Service Manager will be in charge of the following: Supervise a staff of assistants and cook/bakers preparing student lunches. Plan, organize, and direct the food service program following established procedures. Supervise and assist in the preparation of main dish items, salads, sandwiches, desserts, vegetables, snacks and foods. Direct the set-up of the cafeteria and the portioning and serving of foods.
Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District, under general direction, is seeking a Food Service Manager at the high school level to be responsible of a high school cafeteria. The Food Service Manager will be in charge of the following: Supervise a staff of assistants and cook/bakers preparing student lunches. Plan, organize, and direct the food service program following established procedures. Supervise and assist in the preparation of main dish items, salads, sandwiches, desserts, vegetables, snacks and foods. Direct the set-up of the cafeteria and the portioning and serving of foods. REQUIREMENTS -Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level courses or special training in nutrition, food service management, supervision or similar areas -Three (3) years of paid experience in quantity food preparation, cooking, baking and serving, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity OR -Two (2) years of experience as Food Service Cook/Manager I, II or III with the Baldwin Park Unified School District -Valid California driver’s license, have an acceptable driving record, and qualify for insurability PREFERENCE -Valid State approved Management Food Safety and Sanitation Certification as set forth by California Retail Food Code (CalCode), Section 113947 as it pertains to food safety certification
