Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Requirement: Experience working with school age students, or verifiable units in child development or related field; High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Completion of forty-eight (48) units of higher education study or obtained an AA degree or successfully passed the Modesto City Schools Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Assessment Exam. District-approved Restraint Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and renewed as required.

Licenses/Certificates/Permits Minimum Requirements: Instructional Paraprofessional Proficiency Certificate, or equivalent. Certificate District-approved Restraint Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment and renewed as required.

  • NCLB Compliance (All applicants must submit a copy of an AA degree, transcripts showing at least 48 units OR a proficiency certificate showing that you have met the ESSA requirement.)
