Salary Range: $16.87 hourly

Perform usher duties related to the operation of the District theaters; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

• Receives general supervision from an assigned supervisor.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Assist with front house operational activities including set-up, run and/or strike of shows and events.

• Assist customers in locating assigned seats within a specified theater.

• Accommodate persons with specials needs such as wheel chairs or hearing and sight impairments.

• Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

• Observe and report unsatisfactory or dangerous conditions or higher-level staff.

• Maintain positive rapport with clients, guests, and co-workers.

• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge of: 

• Principles and procedures of customer service.

 

Ability to: 

• Ability to take direction and follow standard safety procedures.

• Maintain calm demeanor in stressful situations.

• Ability to communicate effectively and serve the needs of a diverse population of clients and guests.

• Ability to work with simple hand tools

• Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public, faculty and students.

• Work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

• Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

• Establish and maintain effective work relationships..

• Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, linguistic, ethnic backgrounds and disabilities of community college student and staff.

• Stand for prolonged periods of time.

• Walk up and down standard stairs.

• Lift and carry loads up to 25 lbs.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Education: 

• Completion of the twelfth grade or the equivalent.

 

Experience:

• No experience required.
