About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Antioch Unified School District is centrally located in the East Bay and provides ready access to scenic mountains, waterfronts, wine country, historical sites and the Pacific Ocean. Antioch is known as the “Gateway to the Delta” and is one of California’s oldest cities, with a diverse community of approximately 100,000. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform routine custodial duties at a designated school or District site during an assigned shift; maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition.

Unit: CSEA Current Vacancies: 2 Hours/Work Year: 8 hours/day (swing shift) / 12 Months Monthly Salary Range 122: Step A $4,257; Step B $4,472; Step C $4,699; Step D $4,937; Step E $5,187; Step F $5,449 Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligible. APPLICATION DEADLINE - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2024, by 4:30 PM. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
REQUIREMENTS: All offers of employment are conditional upon the applicant’s satisfactory results of the Post Offer, Pre-Placement Physical Evaluation Program (PEP). This physical strength test helps us select employee candidates that have demonstrated a minimum level of strength to perform the essential functions of the job. SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for completeness, experience and overall qualifications. A written exam (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. If your application is accepted to move forward with the examination process, you will be notified via email of the time and location. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
