Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for an Executive Assistant II for the Superintendent's Office of the Administration Division. Under general direction, performs a wide variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative, secretarial, and operational support to the members of the County Board of Education. Serves as the Recording Secretary for the San Diego County Board of Education. This position is full-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system. ABOUT THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION: The San Diego County Board of Education consists of five members. Each represents a different trustee area and is selected by voters there. The four-year terms are staggered to allow for continuity. The board operates under the authority of the California Constitution, the State Legislature, California Education Code and the California State Board of Education. The trustees are responsible for adopting the annual County Office of Education Local Control and Accountability Plan and budget; adopting policies governing the operation of the board; acting as the appeals board for student expulsions, interdistrict transfers, and charter school petitions; hiring and evaluating the county superintendent and establishing the rate of compensation; and serving as the landlord and owner of property.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires any combination equivalent to education, training, and experience which clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities described in the job description.
An example of qualifying experience and education would be:
- Possession of an associate’s degree; and,
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience working for an administrator of a large and complex division, department or agency or responsible secretarial experience of comparable depth and breadth of assignment.
- Experience in an educational setting is desirable.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable.
