FACILITIES PLANNER
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under direction of the Director of Facilities Planning, provide specialized assistance in the administration of the District’s Facilities and Planning Program; perform specialized tasks conducting a variety of studies and preparing related reports; provide recommendations to District administrators according to projects assigned.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Prepare original and amended applications for construction and renovation projects in the state school building program. E
Assist the Director in identifying new school sites and obtaining approvals from state and local agencies. E
Executive site acquisitions in coordination with acquisition consultants, relocation consultants, appraisers, legal counsel, title companies and property owners or occupants. E
Develop and maintain locally-formatted reports which portray status, budgets, cash flow, apportionments and obligations for various aspects of District projects. E
Research and respond to inquiries from a broad audience regarding most aspects of the District’s School Building Program. E
Research and document information for student generation and enrollment projections. E
Summarize data concerning such areas as school attendance, school boundaries and student enrollment. E
Research, field check and maintain current information on development and land use within the District. E
Communicate with county and city planning departments, County Assessor’s Office and other state and local agencies together information. E
Prepare periodic special reports for District personnel on school planning. E
Maintain inventory of “1A” diagrams of facilities. E
Prepare and maintain revenue projections and cost analysis projections and cost analysis for planning, construction, developer fees and other funding plans. E
Prepare maps, notices, public information documents, information pieces and other correspondence. E
Utilize a geographic information system. E
Respond to assist in preparation of notices of exemption, negative declarations and other environmental documents. E
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field and three years’ experience in facilities planning or a related field or three years’ experience at a technical level in planning or a closely related activity.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver’s license.
Personal transportation for job-related travel.
