Job Summary
Job Summary
This position performs technical accounting to produce customer or project oriented financial responsibility statements. It is intended to encompass individual jobs that maintain a complete set of records for a complex enterprise. Problem solving challenges are highly technical in nature yet well precedented. Completion of transactions and reports requires periodic interface with regulatory agencies, vendors, independent contractors and reimbursement agencies. Work is performed in an office setting with considerable time spent entering information on a computer.

To be considered, the following must be furnished: Edjoin.org Application (Click below to apply) High School Diploma or completion of GED Two (2) years of college level coursework in general business or accounting curriculum plus three (3) years of experience in a responsible record keeping/bookkeeping capacity. Or Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a recordkeeping/bookkeeping capacity. Individuals interested in employment are asked to describe any training, education, experience, or skills relevant to this position. Selection Procedure: The process will begin with the competitive screening of qualified applicants. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a written, oral, and/or practical examination process. Successful candidates will be ranked on an eligibility list according to the examination score. Final selection will then be made in accordance with Merit System rules from the eligibility list that is good for 6 months once it is established. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees. ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: Employment with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements, including Board of Trustee approval. As part of the selection process, all new employees are required to provide the following information: new employees must be fingerprinted (paid by the District); TB test (paid by the employee); social security card; picture identification; and authorization to work (I-9) for Payroll purposes. PAY DAYS: Permanent employees are paid on the last working day of each month.

The District offers many options for Medical benefits: SISC Blue Shield PPO Plan or Blue Shield Access+HMO or Kaiser Medical plans , Dental Care, and Vision Care plan for employee and dependents; Life Insurance, Long Term Disability; sick leave coverage for employee only. Classified employees are required to join the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) and as such contribute up to 8% of their monthly salary to PERS on a pre-tax basis.
