Requirements / Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Transitional Kindergarten teaching position, the candidate must hold one of the following: • At least 24 units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both • Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children comparable to the 24 units of education described above • Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing • Written verification that the candidate was assigned to teach TK, or a combination of kindergarten and TK, on or before July 1, 2015. Other required documents:

  • Credential Copy
  • English Learner Authorization (If not part of credential)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Prefer 3)
  • Other (Proof of Transitional Kindergarten Eligibility)
  • Resume

An invitation to complete the Teacher Sketch will be received upon completion of the application. Please attach all documents to your Edjoin application in pdf format. Applications that do not include all required documents will not be considered. $10,000 Signing Bonus: The payment shall be paid as follows: 1st half ($5000) to be paid in the first paycheck and 2nd half ($5,000) to be paid at the end of the 2nd school year providing the employee is in active paid status at the time of the final school year paycheck. Unit members hired without a full credential (Intern, permit, waiver, etc) shall become eligible the year following receipt of their credential. Teachers who meet the TK teaching requirements, are assigned TK students and work 65% or more of the school year will receive an annual $1,000 stipend to be paid at the end of the school year.
