Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Technology, the Data and Systems Specialist is responsible for managing, analyzing, and optimizing school data systems to enhance operational efficiency and support educational outcomes. This role requires a strong proficiency in data management tools such as Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets and the ability to develop and implement custom solutions using Google Apps Script. The specialist will work closely with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to streamline data processes, ensure accurate reporting, and improve decision-making through insightful analysis. This position is ideal for someone who has a technical mindset and a passion for improving educational environments through the power of data and systems optimization.

Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience with Google Sheets and Google Apps Script to automate processes and create custom tools. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in managing large data sets. Effective communication and collaboration skills, particularly in a school or educational setting. Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues on the telephone and in person for students and staff schoolwide. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, or staff. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must have a working knowledge of the technological tools employed by teachers and other staff members. Ability to research new technology and troubleshooting methods. Understand the set-up and configuration of school computers Ability to analyze issues and determine an appropriate course of action Display tact and courtesy at all times Work as part of a team and maintain effective working relationships Strong oral and written communication skills in English Must possess strong customer service skills Ability to work independently, with minimum direction, and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines Must live in the Northern California, Sacramento area and be able to commute to El Dorado Hills. Education and Licenses: High school diploma or equivalent One year certificate from a college or technical school; or one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience working in network setup and at a help desk and troubleshooting is strongly preferred. Valid California Driver’s License
