ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA VIRTUAL ACADEMIES AND THE STUDENT SUCCESS COORDINATOR POSITION: The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home based instruction to students in grades TK-12 in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily, complete all assignments, and attend required live instructional sessions. K12 inc. is our curriculum provider. Virtual schools are new models in public education. They look both backward to what we know works well in educating children, and forward to see how technology can help us implement these strategies with children. Virtual school teachers are part of a pioneering effort. Our administrators, therefore, need to share the school’s pioneering mission and approach. REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE: • Strong organizational skills • Detail oriented • Able to balance and complete multiple projects • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Self-directed but comfortable working as part of a team • Attend in-person training as scheduled • Strong understanding of students with unique needs • Strong understanding of implementation of RTI and the surrounding laws • Strong understanding of scaffolding • Experience in developing and implementing intervention programs for students • Experience in collaboration with teachers regarding intervention strategies for students • Minimum of at least two years’ experience overseeing NAM, 504, and SST duties
