IUSD is seeking a detail-oriented Communications Specialist I to support a districtwide priority website project for a six-month period. The successful candidate will help assess and update web content, page layout, and design across all 45 IUSD websites and webpages. This role will focus on ensuring consistency, keeping content up-to-date, and aligning with best practices for website design and ADA compliance. Must thrive in a highly collaborative team setting while also demonstrating strong project management skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and update content for accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
• In partnership with principals and web liaisons, assess content effectiveness and priorities and redesign page layouts for consistency and user experience.
• Ensure web design and content follow ADA compliance standards.
• Work within the IUSD’s content management system (CMS) to implement updates.
• Collaborate with the Public Information Office and school site teams to ensure smooth content transitions.
• Employ strong writing and graphic design skills to enhance web visuals and messaging.
• Other graphic design and communication duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Experience utilizing content management systems such as Drupal.
• Knowledge of coding languages (HTML/CSS) a plus.
• Experience with writing and editing content.
• Strong graphic design skills with an eye for layout and user experience.
• Familiarity with ADA web compliance standards.
• Skilled in both public-facing and interpersonal communication.
• Work well in a highly collaborative environment with multiple key stakeholders.
• Excellent project management skills.
